New SediMeter Software Version
Miami, FL, 2010-07-06 - The PC software for communicating with SediMeter instruments has now got an Export feature not just for the sediment level of the seafloor, but also for the near-bed turbidity profile.
The SediMeter was created for monitoring small changes in bottom level as a result of sediment accumulation and erosion. It does so by measuring a vertical turbidity profile, from the water and down into the bottom. The software interpolates the bottom level based on the turbidity profile, with 0.1 mm resolution.
However, for many research applications it is of interest to study the entire turbidity profile, to learn more about the nature of the sediment-water interface, i.e., the bottom. This has always been possible within the software, but until now the results could only be exported as an intensity graph. With version 2.2 the user can export the data for further statistical analysis in the application of his choice.
Version 2.2 of the SediMeter software is available for download on the corporate website, lindorm.com (mirrored at sedimeter.com).
